Job summary

Arcfield in the United States seeks a senior MBSE-focused Systems Engineer with TS/SCI clearance to support space system acquisitions and GEOINT programs. You will collaborate in IPTs, review teams, and engineering groups to mature artifacts, CONOPS, interfaces, and architecture products.

The role emphasizes developing architecture baselines, establishing mission capabilities, evaluating schedules and risks, and guiding verification strategies while applying MBSE across customer and company

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related field is required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8–10 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree or 6–8 years with a master’s or 3–5 years with a PhD.
  • Experience in Requirements Engineering, Systems Integration, and Risk/Opportunity management (RIO).
  • Proven ability to identify and solve problems to meet organizational goals.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to lead multiple projects.
  • Ability to operate within SETA/FFRDC and government lines of authority.

Responsibilities

  • Support capability and solution definition for future space systems through readiness events and independent review teams.
  • Support systems engineering efforts for space system acquisitions in GEOINT.
  • Participate in IPTs and engineering groups assessing artifacts, CONOPS, interfaces, and architectures.
  • Develop architecture baselines and assess mission capabilities, schedules, risks, and verification strategies.
  • Assist in creating quantifiable requirements from customer needs and acquisition logistics.
  • Ensure requirements comply with client and government standards via formal verification.
  • Assess performance using evaluation criteria and Technical Performance Measures.
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure traceability and applicability of requirements.
  • Adopt MBSE in customer and company domains; apply MBSE principles to major acquisitions.
  • Develop models of mission systems using an MBSE tool suite with architecture modeling, workflow management, analytics, and data visualization.
  • Facilitate meetings with space system SMEs and MBSE/SysML experts to implement modeling solutions.

Qualifications
  • Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • 8 to 10 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree or 6 to 8 years of related experience with a master’s degree or 3 to 5 years of related experience with a PhD in Systems Engineering or in related technical or scientific field such as engineering, operations research, or engineering management.
  • Demonstrated experience relating to Systems Engineering area(s) including but not limited to: Requirements Engineering, Systems Integration, Risk, Issue, and Opportunity (RIO).
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and solve problems to further organizational goals.
  • Commitment to understand, recognize, respect, and operate effectively within various SETA, Federally Funded Research and Development (FFRDC), and Governmental lines of authority.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills and the ability to lead/support multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to support the customer’s needs, clearly communicate (orally & written) ideas, work autonomously.
These Qualifications Would Be Nice To Have (DESIRED)
  • GEOINT mission expertise in EO and/or Radar system areas also desired.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership and team leadership skills, including interfacing with internal corporate and customer stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in supporting Requirements Engineering, CONOPS development, and system integration to accommodate End to End Systems Engineering.
  • Experience identifying user needs and gaps, identifying potential solutions, and assessing/analyzing alternatives.
  • Experience with industry MBSE tools and modeling methodologies to successfully produce systems engineering models.
  • Experience with Agile Development, SAFE Agile system development methods.
  • Knowledge and practical application of UML / SysML modeling languages and experience applying this common structure to an MBSE solution.
  • Understand how system requirements, design, analysis, verification, and validation activities are enabled by MBSE across the digital thread (the engineering lifecycle). Foundational to MBSE are tools, technologies, and methodologies that can collectively be called digital engineering.
  • OCSMP Level 1, 2, or 3 certifications.
