GEOINT Operations Systems Engineer
Position Summary
The GEOINT Operations Systems Engineer will support a dynamic space program in Chantilly, VA, overseeing satellite operations from tasking to product dissemination for a proliferated constellation of imagery satellites. The role requires strong problem‑solving skills and a willingness to support mission‑critical operations in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operations planning and execution support
- Develop and coordinate operations transition plans for large constellations
- Provide support for anomaly resolution
- Support development and evaluation of CONOPS for GEOINT missions
- Interface with mission users, operators, and analysts to translate operational needs into system requirements
- Assess system performance from an operational and mission‑effectiveness perspective
- Support exercises, demonstrations, and operational evaluations
- Provide on‑call support as needed
- Provide proactive support to the Government customer and tasks in an integrated office environment
- Participate in full‑lifecycle acquisition and SE activities from pre‑acquisition through launch and on‑orbit checkout
- Author, review, and coordinate documents, briefings, and data to aid the Government in communications and decision‑making
- Provide support for dissemination of imagery products
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with current polygraph
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics with 8+ years of relevant experience
- Experience with space systems design, development, and operations, including tasking, metric collection, and image dissemination
- Experience with the Intelligence Community and/or the Department of Defense
- Experience with IC architectures, spacecraft, and payloads
- Ability to lead and serve as primary point of contact for one or more projects
- Effective interpersonal and customer engagement skills across multiple groups, offices, and organizations
- Strong communication skills: ability to convey complex technical subjects to senior decision makers
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic, integrated team environment
- Preferred: Master’s or PhD in a relevant technical field
