Job summary

Culmen International is seeking a Mid-Level Exploitation Specialist/Data Scientist to support the NGA on-site at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. The role requires coordinating with clients to translate datasets into data-driven solutions and developing automated workflows for rapid GEOINT insights.

Ideal candidates will have TS/SCI with CI/Poly, 9+ years in data science or related fields, and strong Python/SQL skills, plus experience with dashboards and GIS tools.

Qualifications

• Requires TS/SCI clearance with CI/Poly eligibility.
• 9+ years of relevant experience in data science, automation, software development, data engineering, GEOINT support, or related technical disciplines.
• Experience supporting IC operations.
• Background in intelligence analysis or data science for an intelligence mission.
• Ability to operate at a mid-level and independently.
• Proficiency in Python and its data science ecosystem (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, Plotly, Dash).
• Experience querying and integrating web APIs via Python.
• Strong SQL and relational DB experience.
• Experience with Git-based version control (GitHub/GitLab).
• Familiarity with USSOCOM and IC data repositories.
• Ability to document technical systems clearly.
• Experience automating data workflows and building dashboards.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with clients to understand questions and issues involving datasets, determining data-driven solutions within program guidelines.
• Develop automated processes, architect data science solutions, and conduct analyses.
• Translate road map features into components/tasks, estimate timelines, identify resources, and flag risks.
• Use exploratory data analysis to identify patterns and relationships in data.
• Combine math, programming, and data to provide actionable insights for decision makers.
• Research and implement optimization models to inform data management and analysis.
• Apply big data analytics tools to large diversified data for impactful insights.
• Conduct peer reviews to improve workflows and methodologies.
• Mentor team members to increase technical skills and knowledge.
