<p>San Bernardino County is looking for a GIS Technician I to join their team. This role focuses on utilizing Esri's GIS platform for creating and maintaining various geospatial data products. The ideal applicant will have experience with ArcGIS tools and background in public agencies.</p><p>The position requires an understanding of geospatial datasets and the ability to perform quality control checks. A GIS certificate and/or relevant college coursework are necessary to qualify.</p>
San Bernardino County is recruiting for a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Technician I who will utilize the Esri GIS platform to create and maintain a wide variety of maps, data and geospatial information products. The incumbent will assist in developing customer map and/or geospatial data product requirements, use Esri’s ArcGIS Online and/or ArcGIS Pro map production tools to compose and generate a wide variety of geospatial products, and perform quality control on encoded data, reviews output for accuracy, and quality checks on GIS products. A vacancy currently exists in the Sheriff's Department; the resulting eligible list may be used to fill vacancies throughout the County and the Fire District as they occur.

Applicants must successfully pass a background check and a job-related physical exam, including a drug test, prior to employment. For the Sheriff's Department, positions require extensive background investigations, including polygraph testing. Travel throughout the County may be required and employees will be required to make provision for such transportation.
