Job summary

RADgov Inc. in Virginia seeks a seasoned GIS professional to design, build, and deliver web-based GIS applications. You will work with ArcGIS Pro 3.x, ArcSDE, and ArcGIS Enterprise to implement complex mapping and analysis projects.

Applicants should have 4–8 years in GIS and a strong programming background in Python, plus excellent written and verbal communication. This role follows a hybrid schedule with partial in-office collaboration.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in GIS, Geography, Cartography, CS or related field with GIS experience.
• 4-8 years of experience in GIS and GIS application development.
• Minimum 5 years of experience designing, building, and delivering web applications.
• Excellent problem solving, verbal and written communication, design, development and debugging skills.
• Experience in development of complex analysis and mapping projects.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users, orally and in writing.
• Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro 3.x and ArcGIS Enterprise (server, portal, data stores).
• Ability to develop GIS tools and applications independently and perform complex analyses using GIS tools and programming environments.
• Self-starter with a technical background in software and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Job description

Required Experience

• BS/BA in GIS, Geography, Cartography, Computer Science, or other related field with/ GIS experience.
• 4-8 years of experience in GIS and GIS application development.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience designing, building, and delivering web applications
• Excellent problem-solving, verbal, and written communication, design, development, and debugging skills
• Must have experience in the development of complex analysis and mapping projects.
• Must have the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical computer users, both orally and in writing.
• Candidates shall demonstrate high competence in ESRI GIS software suite (ArcGIS Pro 3.x and higher) including, but not limited to, a thorough knowledge of ArcSDE and ArcGIS Enterprise (server, portal, web adaptors, data stores).
• Must work independently to develop GIS tools and applications, perform complex analyses, and develop multi-layered maps by using an appropriate combination of tools in the GIS application suite and other programming environments.
• Self-starter with a technical background in software and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Candidate should have Proficiency in Python.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience and demonstrated proficiency in data extraction, analysis, and scripting tools, preferably Oracle SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Prior experience with LRS and working knowledge and experience with ESRI Roads & Highways or other similar systems is a plus
• Prior experience working with enterprise asset management systems and datasets
• Develop and maintain linear referencing systems (LRS) and GIS applications to support spatial data management needs.
• Experience in Reporting Tools such as Power BI is strongly desired.
