Job summary

MasterApp Labs LLC is seeking a Senior GIS Application Developer for a contract role in Mechanicsville, VA, with hybrid work (3–4 days in office). The candidate will design, build, and deliver advanced GIS web applications using ESRI tools, Python, and mapping APIs to support spatial data analysis and enterprise systems.

The position requires 4–8 years in GIS, strong communication skills, and experience with ArcGIS Pro 3.x, ArcSDE/Enterprise, and ArcGIS API for JavaScript.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in GIS, Geography, Cartography, CS or related field with GIS experience.
• 4-8 years of experience in GIS and GIS application development.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience designing, building, and delivering web applications
• Experience developing web applications using ArcGIS API for JavaScript or other JavaScript mapping APIs
• Excellent problem-solving, verbal, and written communication, design, development, and debugging skills
• Must have experience in the development of complex analysis and mapping projects.
• Must have the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical computer users, both orally and in writing.
• Candidates shall demonstrate high competence in ESRI GIS software suite (ArcGIS Pro 3.x and higher) including ArcSDE and ArcGIS Enterprise
• Must work independently to develop GIS tools and applications, perform complex analyses, and develop multi-layered maps
• Self-starter with a technical background in software and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Candidate should have Proficiency in Python.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in GIS, Geography, Cartography, Computer Science, or other related field with/ GIS experience.
• 4-8 years of experience in GIS and GIS application development.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience designing, building, and delivering web applications
• Experience developing web applications using ArcGIS API for JavaScript or other JavaScript mapping APIs

• Self-starter with a technical background in software and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Candidate should have Proficiency in Python.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience and demonstrated proficiency in data extraction, analysis, and scripting tools, preferably Oracle SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Prior experience with LRS and working knowledge and experience with ESRI Roads & Highways or other similar systems is a plus
• Prior experience working with enterprise asset management systems and datasets
• Develop and maintain linear referencing systems (LRS) and GIS applications to support spatial data management needs.
• Experience in Reporting Tools such as Power BI is strongly desired.
