Job summary

Terradyne Engineering is seeking a geotechnical lab technician to analyze soil, rock, and groundwater samples from field investigations. You will support QA/QC procedures and work closely with the Lab Supervisor to ensure accurate test results.

The role emphasizes safety, organization, and the ability to manage multiple tests and deadlines in a busy lab environment. Training and career development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Geology background preferred but not required.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in testing and reporting.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Communicating test status and results to Lab Supervisor and/or Department Manager.
• Organize and prioritize multiple projects and tasks with minimal supervision.
• Adhere to deadlines and maintain productivity during peak times.
• Promote a safe work environment and keep a clean, organized lab area.
• Assist with AASHTO proficiency testing as required.
• Report issues to supervisor/manager and document findings.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager.

Requirements

Job Responsibilities

• Communicating test status and results to Lab Supervisor and/or Department Manager
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects and tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision
• Adhering to deadlines
• Ability to be flexible during peak times
• Promoting a safe work environment and maintaining a clean and organized work area
• Assisting with AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials) proficiency testing as required
• Great attention to detail is required
• Reporting any issues to the supervisor/manager
• Any other task requested by the supervisor/ manager

Job Skills & Requirements

• Love and enjoy working indoors.
• Geology background preferred but it I not required.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Always adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical procedures
• Understanding the importance of QC (Quality Control) in the laboratory.
• Must be a self-starter, reliable, and come with a good and humble attitude
• Attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills such as Word and Excel.
• Basic Math knowledge.
• Industry certifications preferred:
• ACI Strength
• ACI Aggregate
• SB101
• SB102
• Clean MVR, background, and drug screening.
• Valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Available to work long hours and weekends
• Tasks assigned by the supervisor or manager
