Job summary

The University of Chicago Genomics Facility in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Research Specialist 1 to perform single cell and micro-array services for experiments. You will operate the facility's QC equipment and support sequencing workflows under the supervision of the principal investigator.

Responsibilities include preparing DNA and RNA samples for sequencing, analyzing data, preparing reports, and collaborating with students and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology/Genomics or related field plus 1 year of experience in genetics facility or related lab required.
• Experience with preparing DNA & RNA samples for sequencing and with single cell sequencing and/or micro-array experiments.
• Familiarity with literature reviews and preparing reports/manuscripts.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Facility's sample QC equipment (fragment analyzer, bio-analyzer, qubit, Pippin).
• Prepare, analyze and maintain DNA/RNA samples for sequencing and pooling strategies.
• Conduct literature reviews and assist with reports/manuscripts under PI supervision.
• Install, set up and perform experiments; interact with students and laboratory staff under PI direction.
