Job summary

Vylor, a global leader in seed and genetics, seeks a Genomics Data Analyst within the Pipeline Signal and Deployment team to deliver sequence-based data for trait development. You will evaluate sequencing data, confirm DNA constructs, and characterize gene edits to inform pipeline decisions.

Collaborate with molecular biology, transformation, bioinformatics, and regulatory groups to ensure data quality, SOP adherence, and timely delivery, while exploring new tools and automation to boost

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in bioinformatics, genetics, molecular biology, plant science, biotechnology, or related field; Bachelor’s with 2-3 years acceptable.
• Strong knowledge of DNA sequencing technologies and molecular biology fundamentals.
• Experience analyzing sequence data, aligning reads, identifying variants/indels, interpreting alignments.
• Experience with characterizing gene-edited or transgenic events in crops.

Responsibilities

• Analyze next-generation sequencing data to deliver accurate data products for gene editing and transgenic trait development projects.
• Perform sequence verification of DNA constructs to confirm identity and integrity prior to plant transformation.
• Characterize gene edits in plant samples, including edit outcomes, allele composition, and zygosity.
• Characterize transgene insertions using sequencing-based methods, including copy number and flanking junctions.
• Apply quality control criteria to assess data quality and determine reanalysis needs.
• Ensure prerequisite project steps are completed before sequencing lab delivery.
• Document analyses and maintain traceable records in information management systems.
