Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior data engineering leader to design and own end-to-end data pipelines for genomic and operational data in the US. You will define the technical direction of the data platform and ensure reliable, scalable production pipelines across the stack.

You will own data quality, lineage, and observability while applying CAP/CLIA, HIPAA, and GDPR requirements. Experience with audits and cloud-native tools is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software or data engineering experience.
• 4+ years building and operating production data pipelines at scale.
• 3+ years production cloud experience (AWS preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong SQL proficiency on Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
• Strong Python proficiency across the stack (data pipelines, backend services, and APIs).
• Production experience with a workflow orchestrator.
• Production experience with containers (Docker) and Kubernetes.
• Experience supporting HIPAA or GxP audits.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own the data pipelines for genomic and operational data.
• Set technical direction for data platform and build reliable production pipelines.
• Own data quality, lineage, and observability end to end.
• Apply understanding of CAP/CLIA, HIPAA, GDPR to data pipeline architecture.
• Produce and maintain operational evidence for compliance audits.
