Job summary

The Nyerges Lab at Harvard Medical School, Department of Genetics, is seeking a Research Assistant to join a newly established group working at the interface of bacterial genome engineering, directed evolution, and biomedical applications.

You will perform molecular cloning, PCR, DNA/RNA extraction, and library preparation for RNA-seq and sequencing workflows, contribute to data analysis, and help prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications. The position is on-site at HMS Longwood.

Qualifications

• At least one year of related work experience in a molecular biology laboratory.
• Undergraduate degree in biology, molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, or related discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute experiments in bacterial genetics and directed evolution.
• Prepare RNA and DNA sequencing libraries for Illumina and Oxford Nanopore platforms.
• Maintain electronic lab records and contribute to manuscript preparation.
