Job summary

The University of Utah Health System is seeking a Genetics Clinic Coordinator in the Department of Pediatrics. This role provides assistive patient care, supports licensed staff, and may perform defined medication-related tasks within scope and state law.

Qualifications

• Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system (must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
• Verifiable completion of one of the following EMT course, Medical Assistant experience, Medical Assisting education program, or University Hospital Medical Assistant certification program.

Responsibilities

• Reports all observed patient concerns and changes in condition to a licensed staff member.
• Acts as a chaperone for health care providers during patient examination as requested and may assist with procedures.
• Answers division specific telephone calls and assists in the patient triage process, including scheduling appointments, procedures, and diagnostic tests under licensed staff guidance.
• Assists in routine clerical functions such as filing medical information, locating charts, obtaining medical records, and entering charges for billing.
