Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas seeks a Genetic Counselor to join the SPARC program within the McDermott Center for Human Growth and Development. You will help define return-of-results processes and develop patient-facing materials for population genomics research.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, using AI-assisted tools, contribute to cascade screening efforts, and support education for patients and families while expanding sequencing initiatives on campus.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree from an accredited genetics program.
  • ABGC-CGC certification required.
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a core member of SPARC operational team to identify genes for return of results.
  • Develop educational materials, counseling scripts, and result reports for SPARC.
  • Launch, implement, and scale a large population genomic screening initiative.
  • Leverage AI technologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy in genetic counseling.
  • Collaborate with a research team and participate in weekly/one-on-one meetings.
  • Educate patients and families about risks and genetic conditions.
