Valley Children’s Healthcare is seeking a Genetic Counselor to provide counseling and case management for prenatal, medical genetic, and metabolic genetics patients. You will coordinate with the Geneticist and other stakeholders, offering psychosocial support, and travel to satellite clinics to support market development.

Requires a Master’s Degree in Genetic Counseling and ABGC Board Certification. One year of related medical genetics experience is preferred; position involves on-site work in

Job Summary:

This position is accountable for counseling and case management of prenatal, medical genetic and metabolic genetic patients. Serves as a liaison between the patient, primary care provider, community agencies and the department, eliciting and providing medical and genetic information in collaboration with the Geneticist and provide psychosocial support. Works with Hospital leadership to ensure operational effectiveness and market development. Travel is required to satellite clinics.

Qualifications:

Education

• Master’s Degree Genetic Counseling (required)

Licenses and Certifications

• ABGC - Board Certified Status - ABGC - American Board Genetic Counselors (required) Or

Work Experience

• Minimum one (1) year Applicable medical genetics setting and/or area of focus (i.e. lab or neurology) (preferred)
