Shodair Children’s Hospital in Montana seeks a Genetic Counselor to provide counseling, risk assessment, and education for pediatric and adult patients across the state, with outreach travel and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

You will collect histories, coordinate and interpret genetic testing, educate families on risks and testing options, and document care in the EMR. Requires Master's in Genetic Counseling and Montana licensure; BC/BE eligibility.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling and board eligibility/certification.
• Montana licensure to practice genetics (or eligibility) required.
• Experience in counseling, risk assessment, and education across ages.

Responsabilités

• Provide genetic counseling in clinic and outreach settings.
• Collect and interpret medical, family, and psychosocial histories.
• Coordinate and interpret genetic testing.
• Educate patients on risks, recurrence, and testing options.
• Document all care in the EMR and produce counseling reports.
• Deliver genetics education and develop patient materials.
• Connect families with appropriate resources.
• Participate in research and uphold ethical and regulatory standards.
