Job summary

Valley Children's Healthcare seeks a Genetic Counselor responsible for counseling and case management of prenatal, medical genetic and metabolic genetic patients. The role serves as a liaison between the patient, primary care provider, community agencies and the department, eliciting and providing medical and genetic information in collaboration with the Geneticist and providing psychosocial support.

Travel to satellite clinics is required.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Genetic Counseling is required.
• ABGC Board Certified Status is required.
• Minimum one year applicable medical genetics setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between patient, primary care provider, community agencies and department.

Works with Hospital leadership to ensure operational effectiveness and market development. Travel is required to satellite clinics.

• Master's Degree Genetic Counseling (required)

Licenses and Certifications

• ABGC - Board Certified Status - ABGC - American Board Genetic Counselors (required) Or

Work Experience

• Minimum one (1) year Applicable medical genetics setting and/or area of focus (i.e. lab or neurology) (preferred)
