Job summary

Main Line Health seeks a Genetics Counselor I to coordinate prenatal and oncology genetic evaluations and work with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.

You will coordinate risk assessments, participate in conferences, and support education initiatives while advancing your professional growth through offered tuition reimbursement and ongoing certifications.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Genetics/Genetic Counseling or equivalent.
  • ABGC/ABMG Board Certified or Eligible required.
  • Current license to practice in Pennsylvania.
  • Experience in prenatal/oncology genetics settings.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate clinical risk assessment/genetic evaluations.
  • Collaborate with genetic counselors, medical directors, and specialty teams.
  • Participate in conferences, research activities and education as needed.

The Genetic Counselor I possesses the technical knowledge and clinical skills necessary to manage/coordinate clinical risk assessment/genetic evaluations in a manner consistent with all requirements of the health care delivery system-medical, administrative, ethical, legal and regulatory. The genetic counselor works cooperatively with genetic counselors, medical director(s), genetic assistant(s), as well as with specialty teams within the areas of oncology, cardiology and/or perinatology/obstetrics/gynecology. The genetic counselor is also responsible for participating in conferences, research activities and educational events as a multidisciplinary team member, as applicable. This position will focus on prenatal and oncology patients.

Position:

Genetics Counselor I

Shift:

40 hours per week (Monday through Fridays)

Experience:
  • 1, Minimum of 2 years of relevant genetics experience (includes graduate training).
  • 2. Minimum of 2 years of practice in specific subspecialty
Education:
  • 1. Master’s Degree in Genetics/Genetic Counseling or equivalent.
  • 2. Sub specialty-appropriate education required. Sub-specialties including but not limited to oncology, cardiology, prenatal/perinatology and/or adult genetics.
Licensures/Certifications:
  • 1. ABGC/ABMG Board Certified/Eligible required
  • 2. Current license to practice in Pennsylvania.
  • 3. Membership in related field professional organization.
