Job summary

Mesquite ISD is seeking Substitute Custodians (part-time) to maintain cleaning schedules across the district, including classrooms and restrooms, and to perform general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and trash removal.

Typical hours include day shift 6:30am to 2:30pm and evening shift 4:00pm to 10:30pm, with about 20 hours per week, possibly up to 40.

Candidates must have reliable transportation to daily assignments.

Description

Mesquite ISD is looking for candidates for Substitute Custodial (Part‑time) positions. Substitute custodians will maintain cleaning schedules to include sanitizing classrooms/restrooms, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning windows/mirrors and cleaning furniture/equipment.

Availability and Hours

Substitute custodians must demonstrate availability to accept assignments on a daily and long‑term basis. Substitute custodians must demonstrate availability to work shifts of approximately 20 hours per week (possibly up to 40 hours per week).

Hours vary according to assignment.

Typical hours are as follows:

Day shift: 6:30am to 2:30pm

Evening shift: 4:00pm to 10:30pm

Transport Requirements

Substitute custodians must have transportation to and from daily assignments.
