Job summary

Mesquite ISD is seeking an experienced Auxiliary - Facilities/Construction/Facilities Management to paint, repair and maintain district facilities. You will supervise painting tasks, assist other departments, and ensure safety and efficiency to avoid disrupting district activities.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, Texas driver's license, and at least five years of painting experience. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with the Executive Director - Facilities Management

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Texas Driver's License with fewer than three moving violations in the past three years required.
• Minimum of five years of hands-on painting experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and replace interior and exterior painting of district facilities.
• Assist other departments with painting needs related to equipment/projects.
• Ensure proper maintenance and operation of all painting-related vehicles, equipment and tools.
• Maintain inventory of painting supplies and equipment.
• Supervise all paint equipment and related staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Reports To:Executive Director - Facilities Management

EMPLOYMENT BEGINS:As soon as possible

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

• To aid and supervise in maintaining all facilities, entities, and related projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Texas Driver's License with less than three (3) moving traffic violations within the past three (3) years.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

• Demonstrate working knowledge of various aspects of painting and related repairs, including different types of working media and appropriate use thereof
• Knowledge of the use and care of appropriate equipment
• Ability to prioritize and organize work orders and scheduling to facilitate that such alterations and repairs are with safety and expedience not to obstruct a minimum of district activities.

EXPERIENCE:

• Working knowledge of painting and associated skills, with hands on experience for a minimum of five (5) years

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Maintain, repair, and/or replace all internal and external parts of district facilities which are related to painting
• Assist other departments with painting needs related to equipment/projects.
• Assume responsibility for the proper maintenance and operation of all assigned vehicles, equipment and tools.
• Maintain sufficient inventory of needed supplies and equipment.
• Supervision of all paint related equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervision of all painters.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Reading blue prints / manuals / work orders
• Lifting and carrying items in excess of 50 pounds
• Stooping, bending, kneeling, and standing
• Vision corrected in order to read labels and do detail work
• Exposure to weather extremes of hot and cold
• Exposure to material fumes and particles
• Moderate to loud noise in work environment
