Job summary

ERock, Inc. is seeking an emissions technician to perform field testing on natural gas engines, execute preventive maintenance on 400 kW gensets, and troubleshoot generator systems. You will work outdoors across varied climates and help ensure safety and compliance while coordinating with equipment manufacturers.

The role requires basic mechanical/electrical experience, attention to detail, and the ability to stand for long periods. Training will cover manufacturer software and diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in mechanical, electrical, or testing roles.
• College or technical training or equivalent (e.g., military).
• Detail-oriented and thorough in performing tasks.
• Proficient with computers, software, databases and automated systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform emissions testing on natural gas engines as primary task.
• Carry out basic preventative maintenance on 400 kW gensets.
• Calibrate, troubleshoot and use emissions testing devices.
• Inspect equipment to identify maintenance needs.
• Repair Volvo Penta Diesel Engines (16 L), PSI (21.9 L) and Marathon generator ends; manage related control equipment.
• Learn and use manufacturer software to diagnose engine and control system problems.
• Provide technical support and coordinate with equipment manufacturers.
• Carry out scheduled, preventive, or predictive generator maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot and repair tasks as needed.
• Work in hot, humid, or cold outdoor environments.
• Follow company communication procedures (verbal/written).
• Ensure safe operation of electrical equipment per standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform emissions testing on natural gas (primary) engines.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on 400 kW gensets.
• Be proficient utilizing, calibrating, and troubleshooting various emissions testing devices.
• Perform periodic inspections to identify maintenance needs.
• Perform skilled repairs of Volvo Penta Diesel Engines (16 L), Power Solutions International (21.9 L) and Marathon generator ends, as well as various voltage control and synchronizing equipment.
• Be proficient at learning and utilizing manufacturer specific software to troubleshoot and diagnose engine and control system problems.
• Facilitate technical support and liaison with equipment manufacturers.
• Perform scheduled, preventive, or predictive generator maintenance tasks.
• Perform troubleshooting and repair tasks.
• Work in potentially confined areas of high heat and humidity, and cold.
• Follow company process and procedures for verbal/written communications.
• Ensure Safe Operation of electrical equipment by enforcing company and industry standards. Work in an outdoor environment throughout the year.

• Is familiar with or willing to learn and utilize current technology for communication, documentation, and research used by Enchanted Rock.
• Complete environmental procedure reviews to maintain compliance with regulations and accuracy with current practices; develop new environmental procedures to meet the current needs of the power generation equipment.
• Supports environmental aspects of company operations, such as, compliance, reporting, monitoring, remediation, and environmental permitting functions.
• Safely prepare, operate, and maintain a motor vehicle for purposes of conducting company business.
• Additional responsibilities may be added at the direction of Company’s management.

Requirements

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

• Experience – at least 1 Year Mechanical, Electrical, or Testing
• Education Level - College, Technical training or Equivalent Training (i.e. Military)
• Attention to Detail- Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attention to detail
• Computer skills- Uses computers, software applications, databases and automated systems to accomplish work
• Must be able to be on your feet for multiple hours a day.
• Lifting: Occasional need to lift 50 lbs safely.
• Climbing: Constant use of extension ladder.
• Level Reaching: Constant need to extend hands and arms in any direction.
• Integrity- Work efficiently and effectively when with or without supervision.
