Job summary
Mesa Power Solutions is hiring a Generator Technician, Service Operations to support repair and maintenance of natural gas-powered generators and related equipment. You will develop and refine maintenance programs to reduce fleet costs and boost reliability, and collaborate with engineering and manufacturing on product improvements.
The role requires driving, 1 year of service-truck experience, and a proactive, customer-focused approach.
Qualifications
- High School or GED required.
- Vocational/Technical degree with engine/mechanical focus preferred.
- 4-year/Bachelor's degree in related field recommended.
- 1 year of experience operating 3/4–1-ton service trucks required.
- 1 year trailer pulling experience required.
- Preferred: 2+ years related experience; veterans preferred.
- Must possess valid driver's license and driving record satisfactory to company.
Responsibilities
- Performs maintenance services on Mesa units per Mesa standards.
- Maintains service records and parts usage.
- Troubleshoots problems and resolves promptly.
- Delivers superior customer service in the field.
- Verifies unit serviceability using checklists.
- Maintains knowledge of Mesa unit maintenance procedures.
- Adheres to safety policies and company procedures.
- Maintains organized and safe work environments.
- Communicates clearly via phone and computer.
- Travels to customer sites and works flexible hours as needed.

The Generator Technician, Service Operations provides technical expertise as part of a team for the repair and maintenance of natural gas-powered generators and other supporting equipment. Generator Technician, Service Operations develops, refines, and optimizes maintenance programs to reduce generator fleet costs and maximize its reliability. Our Generator Technician, Service Operations develop and document maintenance procedures to maintain the Mesa standard across field offices. This allows Mesa to provide a uniform and superior customer service experience. Further, the Generator Technician, Service Operations collaborates with our engineering and manufacturing teams on product improvements, new product development for Mesa to maintain our unmatched industry leadership in natural gas power generation.
- Performs maintenance services on Mesa units in accordance with the Mesa standard.
- Maintains units records by thoroughly recoding service/repair tasks and parts used.
- Troubleshoot problems and resolve in a timely manner.
- Provides superior customer service.
- Verifies and ensures Mesa units serviceability by following service checklists.
- Updates professional knowledge through constant study of Mesa units.
- Maintains the Mesa standard in all aspects of job responsibilities.
- Performs all duties in a safe and effective manner according to the company's policies and procedures.
- Maintain clean and organized work environments at all times.
- Transmits information and documents with computer and phone.
- Maintains professional personal appearance.
- Helps provide a positive team spirit daily.

Required
- 1 year of experience operating 3/4 – 1-ton service trucks.
- 1 year of trailer pulling experience.
Preferred
- 2 years of related experience.
- Honorably discharged service veterans are preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
- Must be able to pass and complete the Mesa Generator Technician course within 6 months of employment.
- Understanding and familiarity of basic hand tools.
- Understanding of standard and metric systems.
- Understanding of electricity and associated hazards, preferred.
- Proficient with engine troubleshooting tools including Engine Control Modules and gaseous fuel systems, preferred.
- Mesa unit maintenance procedures and standards.
- Basic mechanical and electrical repair methods.
- Safety protocols and company policies.
- Recordkeeping and documentation practices.
- Troubleshooting techniques and diagnostic tools.
- Customer service principles.
- Use of digital tools for communication and documentation.
- Performing routine and complex maintenance and repairs.
- Accurately documenting service and parts usage.
