What You’ll Do

We are looking to hire a detail‑oriented, driven, and resourceful Microgrid Mechanical Technician to manage multiple Microgrid generators. The successful candidate will perform maintenance on power generation equipment, support operations, and coordinate with Area Managers to ensure generator reliability for on‑demand electricity.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform skilled repairs of Volvo Penta Diesel Engines (16 L), Power Solutions International (21.9 L), and Marathon generator ends, as well as voltage control and synchronizing equipment.
• Use manufacturer‑specific software to troubleshoot and diagnose engine and control system problems.
• Facilitate technical support and act as liaison with equipment manufacturers.
• Carry out scheduled, preventive, or predictive generator maintenance tasks.
• Conduct troubleshooting and repair tasks.
• Perform periodic inspections to identify maintenance needs.
• Work in potentially confined areas with high heat, humidity, or cold.
• Follow company processes and procedures for verbal and written communications.
• Utilize technology for communication, documentation, and research.
• Ensure safe operation of electrical equipment by enforcing industry standards.
• Safely prepare, operate, and maintain motor vehicles for company business.
• Additional responsibilities may be added by management.

Requirements

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of mechanical and/or electrical experience.
• Preferred education: college degree or equivalent training (e.g., military).
• Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to traffic laws.
• Pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
• Attention to detail and ability to work meticulously.
• Computer proficiency with software applications and automated systems.
• Flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for multiple hours and climb ladders, lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Integrity and the ability to work efficiently independently or with supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Volvo Penta Diesel Engines.
• Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
