Job summary

Adams Power is seeking a Generator Technician to join our Morris, IL team. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical generators and related equipment, ensuring safe, reliable operation across commercial, industrial, and residential settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification preferred.
• At least 1 year experience as a small engine mechanic or generator technician preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuitry and safety protocols.
• Proficiency with tools and equipment used in generator maintenance and repair.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail; strong communication and teamwork.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, and maintain generators and related electrical systems in various settings.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues in generator systems, including wiring and controls.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and battery checks.
• Test and calibrate generator systems to meet safety and performance standards.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams to diagnose issues.
• Collaborate with technicians, engineers and contractors on projects.
• Maintain records of maintenance and parts used; document service activities.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company policies.
