Job summary

Vet Techservices on San Clemente Island, CA, is seeking a Regular Full-Time Power Generation Technician to maintain and repair marine diesel power equipment for mission-critical systems.

You will troubleshoot, follow manuals, document actions, and ensure compliance with safety standards. US citizenship and DoD security clearance preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required; 3 years' experience in power equipment is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Navy C School or vocational training in power production or 5 years related experience.
• Ability to read English and maintain documentation.
• DoD SECRET security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, isolate malfunctions, repair components, and apply engineering changes.
• Repair power generation and distribution equipment and perform corrosion control as needed.
• Document maintenance actions in IEMS and follow manuals and wiring diagrams.
• Work under supervision as required to support mission success.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Formal classroom education equivalent to Navy “C” School or vocational school, with formal training in Primary and Secondary Power Production generation, storage, and distribution equipment maintenance or 5 years documented experience.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Valid Local Driver License
• Current DoD SECRET security clearance

3 years’ demonstrated experience or skills in at least 3 all of the following areas:

• Primary Power equipment;
• Secondary Power equipment;
• Diesel engine maintenance and repair:
• Industrial electricity safety equipment and procedures;

General Duties and Duties Specific to Specialization Required for Position. Perform the following, under supervision/direction if required:

• Applies comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manuals, wiring diagrams or similar documents.
• Applies technical knowledge in troubleshooting, isolating malfunctions, repairing to the component level, and incorporating engineering changes.
• Repairs power generation/distribution equipment.
• Perform corrosion control as necessary in accordance with established procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned by competent authority to support mission success
• Documents maintenance actions in IEMS.
