Job summary

Keefe's A/C, Heating, and Electrical in New Orleans is seeking a Generator Service Technician (Bilingual Preferred) to provide expert installation, maintenance, diagnostics and repair on residential standby generators. This role includes field service, safety testing, and customer communication.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in generator/electrical/HVAC service, strong troubleshooting skills, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to pursue manufacturer certifications; English/Spanish

Qualifications

• Experience servicing, troubleshooting, or installing residential generators.
• Minimum 2 years of generator/electrical/HVAC service experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record is required.
• Journeyman Electrician License preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on residential standby generators
• Assist with generator installations, startups, and system testing
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and ensure systems operate safely and efficiently
• Diagnose electrical, fuel, and mechanical issues on generator systems
• Maintain communication with dispatch, management, and support teams
• Keep company vehicle clean, organized, and properly stocked
• Complete service tickets, paperwork, and documentation accurately

Generator Service Technician:

We are committed to the growth and development of our employees and are seeking skilled Generator Service technician to provide expert instillation, maintenance, diagnostic, and repair service for residential standby generator.

• Pay: $50,000 - $95,000 per year or more

What You'll Do:

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on residential standby generators
• Assist with generator installations, startups, and system testing
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and ensure systems operate safely and efficiently
• Diagnose electrical, fuel, and mechanical issues on generator systems
• Maintain communication with dispatch, management, and support teams
• Keep company vehicle clean, organized, and properly stocked
• Complete service tickets, paperwork, and documentation accuratelyMaintain a professional appearance and deliver excellent customer service
• Participate in ongoing technical and safety training
• Obtain and maintain certifications for Generac, Briggs & Stratton, and other generator manufacturers (company assistance provided)

What We're Looking For:

• Experience servicing, troubleshooting, or installing residential generators
• Minimum 2 years of generator, electrical, HVAC, or related field service experience preferred
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Journeyman Electrician License preferred but not required
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Strong work ethic, professionalism, and customer service skills
• Willingness to learn and grow through continued training
• English-Spanish bilingual preferred
