About the Role

At PEARCE, we’re looking for a Generator Technician to service and repair commercial generators on cell phone towers across the region. The role involves independent, self‑starter work requiring travel and on‑call availability.

Core Responsibilities
  • Maintain generators, diagnose and repair problems, install and replace components or entire systems, and perform additional maintenance or upgrades on out‑of‑season equipment
  • Conduct performance checks and regular maintenance to ensure proper readiness; read and follow blueprints or design specifications to install or repair
  • Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, and other components, and test for proper operation
  • Respond promptly to Power/Generator alarms; be on call 24/7 if necessary and answer assigned phone and email
  • Work with awareness of hazards linked to installation and maintenance of power supply equipment, switching gear, and other equipment; use safety equipment and participate in all safety and training meetings
Specific Duties

Core Experience
  • Two or more years of generator maintenance experience preferred and a minimum of one year of intensive generator and electrical maintenance work with related software, hardware, and processes
  • Thorough knowledge of generator installations, maintenance, and repair; knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components; moderate computer skills
  • Basic knowledge of FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations
Physical / Work Environment
  • Lift over 50 pounds, stoop, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and stand for long periods
  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and alarms visually and audibly
  • Drive long distances, work day, evening, or night hours; overtime, emergency callouts, weekends, and holidays as required; assume 24‑hour on‑call duty when assigned and be away from home for extended periods
  • Pass a DOT physical
Benefits

Pay range: $30–$40 USD per hour. In addition to wages, employees may be eligible for performance and referral bonuses, production incentives, tool/equipment and fuel stipends, company vehicle, and per diem.
