Job summary

Power Plus in Detroit, MI seeks qualified Generator Service Technicians to maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and test generator systems from 5kW to 4000kW, delivering best-in-class service to customers.

Candidates should have mechanical and electrical aptitude, relevant technical schooling, willingness to learn new technologies, and ability to work shifts, weekends, and on-call rotations; OSHA safety requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Mechanical and electrical aptitude with experience in mechanical and electrical fields, particularly diesel generators.
• Technical schooling: automotive or transportation fields, commercial/residential electric, or similar military experience preferred.
• Willingness to learn and use new technologies.
• Availability to work shifts, weekends, holidays, on-call pager rotations, and occasional overnight travel.
• Ability to safely operate heavy equipment, forklifts, and mobile cranes under OSHA regulations.
• Certified Journeyman electrician a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and test generator systems ranging 5kW–4000kW.
• Interact with customers.
• Correctly fill out paperwork.
• Read and apply technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
