Team Sigmatech is seeking a skilled Generator Mechanic to support mission-critical operations across military and government programs. The ideal candidate will have experience inspecting, maintaining, and repairing tactical and commercial power equipment ranging from 5kW to 100kW and beyond. This role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical expertise, attention to detail, and adherence to military and industry standards in support of defense initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel generators, transfer switches, and associated systems
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions using technical manuals and schematics
Conduct load testing and ensure generator performance meets OEM and DoD specifications
Maintain accurate records in accordance with Army regulations and ISO/AS9100 requirements
Deploy to support field service operations in austere or remote environments when required
Interface with logistics personnel to order and track repair parts
Follow all safety protocols, environmental policies, and quality standards
Use specialized tools and test equipment to support maintenance tasks
Mentor junior mechanics and support a collaborative team environment
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; technical certification or military training in generator systems (e.g., MOS 91D, 91B, or equivalent)
3-5 years of hands-on experience with power equipment
Proficiency with MEP-series generators, Tactical Quiet Generators (TQG), or similar systems
Familiarity with Army Maintenance Management Systems (e.g., GCSS-Army, SAMS-E)
Valid driver's license (CDL a plus)
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in varying field conditions
Qualifications:
OSHA 10/30 safety certification
Knowledge of NFPA 70E, COSIS procedures, and PMCS checklists
Experience supporting tactical units or DoD operations in CONUS or OCONUS settings
