Job summary

National Oilwell Varco, L.P. seeks a skilled Generator Mechanic to maintain our generator equipment and client units. You will inspect, diagnose, repair, and rebuild components, working independently to restore service while upholding safety and quality standards.

Daily tasks include routine inspections, fault diagnosis, parts coordination, on-site support, and accurate work‑order documentation. Travel to multiple sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Technical certification or associate degree in electrical/mechanical technology preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience servicing diesel generator sets.
• Proficiency with multimeters and knowledge of Cummins QuickServe, Insite & InPower.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and service manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on generator sets for company and clients.
• Diagnose faults using electrical, mechanical and diagnostic tools.
• Repair or replace defective components and assemblies.
• Document service actions, test results and parts used in work orders.
• Coordinate with parts inventory to ensure timely availability of required components.
• Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting.
• Maintain compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in continuous improvement to enhance service efficiency.

• Diagnose faults using electrical, mechanical, and diagnostic tools.
• Repair or replace defective components and assemblies.

• Provide on‑site technical support and troubleshooting equipment.
• Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
