Job summary

Generator Supercenter of North Chicago is hiring an apprentice electrician/wireman in Wheeling, IL. You will assist the supervising electrician with generator installations and ATS equipment, following code standards and company practices.

We value leadership, reliability, and safety on the job site as you learn to oversee electrical tasks, mentor junior technicians, and help ensure high-quality installations across our expanding generator systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of professional electrical experience.
• Experience with generator installations is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervising electrician with ATS and generator installations.
• Review sold job folders to ensure electrical scope aligns with codes.
• Troubleshoot wiring and trace issues during installation and service.
• Support load testing and safety compliance.
• Train and mentor electrical technicians as needed.
• Promote job site safety and teamwork.
