Job summary

Wayve is seeking a senior Machine Learning Engineer for its Simulation team in a hybrid London or Sunnyvale role. You will develop next-generation world models and planners to power fast, scalable autonomous driving training and evaluation.

The role focuses on diffusion/latent-video models, real-time roll-outs, and interactive simulations with cross-disciplinary collaboration. Hybrid work, core hours, and offices in both cities are offered.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of ML research/engineering focusing on generative video or world models.
• Deep knowledge in diffusion and latent-video models with efficiency improvements.
• Experience with high-dimensional temporal data (video, multi-sensor).
• Strong Python and PyTorch fundamentals and production tooling experience.
• Publication record or contributions to open-source ML tooling.
• Collaborative, fast-paced team mindset in interdisciplinary environments.

Responsibilities

• Invent next-generation, efficient world-models delivering real-time roll-outs.
• Architect interactive world models enabling reinforcement learning and planning.
• Optimize end-to-end performance to reduce inference latency.
• Define metrics for long-horizon coherence and physics fidelity; run ablations.
• Ship models into closed-loop training and evaluate sim-to-real gaps.
• Mentor junior researchers, shape roadmaps, publish at top venues.
