Job summary

Latent Labs Ltd. seeks a Computational Protein Design Scientist to join a cross-disciplinary team at the interface of generative AI and synthetic biology.

You will design proteins to functions, integrating AI generations with lab validation data and collaborating across ML, biology and software teams. The role combines computational design with wet-lab validation, requiring a PhD or equivalent, strong biochemistry background, and a track record in end-to-end protein design campaigns.

Qualifications

• You are a computational protein designer with a track record of end-to-end design campaigns.
• You have AI generative modelling experience, including model training and large-scale inference.
• You hold a PhD (or equivalent) in computational biology, bioinformatics, CS, biochemistry, or related field.
• You have extensive wet-lab biology experience and can execute end-to-end design campaigns with experimental validation.
• You have delivered successful research projects with publications or patents.

Responsibilities

• Leverage proprietary generative AI models to design proteins for experimental validation.
• Coordinate with lab-based protein engineers to plan design and validation strategy.
• Develop and execute biochemical assays for validation (expression, purification, biophysical characterization, functional assays).
• Collaborate with ML scientists to fine-tune and prompt models and improve data-driven designs.
• Improve data management and contribute to AI model integration with software engineers.
