Job summary

Southern California Edison in Redlands, CA is seeking a Generation Control System Engineer 2 to ensure safe, reliable O&M of DCS for power generation and water & gas systems. You will help architect upgrades and deploy new control solutions to support a renewable generation future.

Responsibilities include sophisticated DCS maintenance, incident resolution, leading tasks, and developing strategies with internal/external partners. Travel up to 60% and a hybrid work model are expected.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or technical field required.
2+ years of engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments.
Valid Class C Driver's License.
Experience with DCS maintenance and power plant operations preferred.
Knowledge of control systems and plant operations.

Responsibilities

Performs sophisticated DCS maintenance including major logic/design changes, patching, programming, device management and system integration.
Resolves incidents involving control system hardware, software and power plant operations.
Lead capacity tasks and project work with internal/external partners.
Develops strategies and procedures for DCS reliability and documentation.
Engages in design, execution, testing and deployment of control system technologies.
Provides client support and cross-team collaboration, with occasional off-hours work.
Supports training and mentoring to build a strong talent pipeline.
