Job summary

ZipStaff Inc. is seeking an experienced Medical Technologist/MLS/CLS for a long-term contract at Central Alabama VA Medical Center in Montgomery, AL. The role covers generalist lab testing across multiple disciplines with a day shift from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

The position requires board certification (ASCP or AMT), a Bachelor's degree in a relevant science, and clinical practice completion. Prior instrument maintenance and QC experience are essential for timely reporting of results.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of generalist MT/MLS/CLS experience.
• Board certification through ASCP or AMT required.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant science field.
• Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation.
• Experience with quality control, calibration, proficiency testing, and regulatory documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform generalist testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Blood Bank, Immunology, and Urinalysis.
• Perform Microbiology testing when applicable.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of laboratory results.
• Identify critical values and notify providers promptly.
• Maintain required laboratory documentation and QC procedures.
• Collaborate with team to ensure continuous coverage and compliance with standards.
