Job summary

Dollar General is hiring for a Distribution Center role in the United States. You will move merchandise, audit orders, label and palletize items, and replenish pick areas while maintaining safety and efficiency.

You will also assist with loading, reporting issues, and supporting the supervisor in problem resolution. Ideal candidates have basic math skills, good communication, and some experience with automated warehouses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to use a Radio Frequency Unit.
• Experience with automated distribution centers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Move incoming or outgoing merchandise within the distribution center using hand, hand truck, or forklift equipment.
• Check, verify, and audit merchandise to ensure correct items and condition; enter data into the terminal.
• Identify, separate, label, and palletize merchandise onto flats.
• Replenish pick areas as indicated by reports and requests for merchandise.
• Fill store orders by transferring merchandise from pick slots to conveyors.
• Load outgoing merchandise into trailers from conveyors or trucks.
• Report damages or vendor compliance issues to supervisor; assist in problem resolution.
• Meet safety, productivity, and quality standards; perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

• Continuous lifting of merchandise up to 65 pounds on a regular basis, and occasional team lifting of merchandise up to 85lbs


• Continuous walking, including long distances and up and down stairs


• May work at heights up to 30 feet above ground


• Standing, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and pushing and pulling using hands and/or arms on a repetitive basis above and below the shoulder level


• May work continuously up to 12 hours


• Exposure to dust and noise


• Exposure to extreme heat and cold, including freezers, coolers and refrigerators for long periods of time
