Job summary

Family Dollar is hiring for a 3rd shift associate 8:00pm - 6:30am Mon-Thur at Ashley, Indiana distribution/warehouse facility. The role focuses on keeping box lines stocked, handling damaged goods, and ensuring merchandise is labeled and scanned correctly. You will operate PIT equipment and uphold safety guidelines in a non climate-controlled environment.

Education: high school diploma preferred. Experience: 4-6 months in a retail distribution center or warehouse.

Qualifications

• Four to six months of Retail Distribution Center or warehouse experience preferred.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 80 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain steady productivity by ensuring box lines are supplied.
• Process damaged products and ensure proper handling.
• Label merchandise correctly to ensure accurate scanning.
• Operate PIT equipment safely and report defects.
• Stock and fill orders when time permits.
• Keep work area organized and maintain safety standards.
• Complete the daily PIT checklist.
• Other duties as assigned.

3rd Shift 8:00pm - 6:30am Mon-Thur

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensures box lines are supplied to maintain steady flow of productivity.
• Ensures damaged product is taken to appropriate area for processing.
• Ensures labels are placed properly on merchandise in order to be scanned properly
• Repairs or discards damaged containers.
• Assists in keeping trash lines free from jams including overhead jams.
• Washes dirty containers.
• Sorts, pushes and delivers used boxes and containers as needed.
• Stacks totes on pallets.
• Fills in and assists with stocking or order filling duties as time permits.
• Completes the daily PIT checklist to ensure equipment is working properly and reports any defects to management and/or maintenance.
• Operates PIT equipment in a safe manner.
• Follows set safety procedures and guidelines.
• Maintains an organized work area and promotes a safe working environment within the Repack department.
• All other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

Education: High School diploma (preferred)

Experience: Four to six months Retail Distribution Center or Warehouse Environment experience preferred.

Physical Requirements: Able to perform essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. These tasks require the ability to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 80 pounds. The Team Member should have adequate fitness level to meet the demands of frequent lifting, walking, standing, moderate climbing of stairs, occasional sitting, stooping and kneeling with or without reasonable accommodation. May be required to operate P.I.T. equipment. Team Member will be required to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per Distribution Center requirements.

Working Conditions: Team Member will work in a non-climate-controlled Distribution or Warehouse atmosphere, in which outside weather conditions greatly affect the building’s temperature although fans and heaters are used. Team Member may also be exposed to or work in a restricted space, fumes and airborne particles as regulated by OSHA.

Availability: Team Member will perform shift work and must be willing to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays.
