OSI Group in Kokomo, IN is seeking an entry-level sanitation associate for a manufacturing environment. You will sanitize production equipment using high-pressure hoses, apply chemicals for cleaning, and may disassemble/re-assemble equipment as needed.

The role requires adherence to safety rules and GMP/food safety policies. Responsibilities include housekeeping, waste handling, following verbal and written instructions, and working with standard safety equipment.

Responsabilidades

• Perform cleaning, sanitizing, and degreasing of production equipment using high pressure hoses and other methods.

• Maintain clean, safe work areas and comply with GMP/food safety policies.
• Comply with company policies and safety regulations; follow all safety procedures.

Job Responsibilities

• Job is an individual contributor.
• Job is an individual contributor and has no direct reports.
• Use a variety of equipment, including high pressure water hoses, to thoroughly cleanse and sanitize production equipment following established procedures. May be required to disassemble and re-assemble portions of the equipment.
• Apply chemicals for cleaning, degreasing, and sanitizing; apply hot water wash down for sterilization.
• Shovel and sweep floors, drains, and sewers from daily production; gather trash and transport trash to compactor for disposal.
• Handle equipment and chemicals in accordance with company, government, and material safety data sheet guidelines.
• Perform general housekeeping duties in worker area; maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with existing policy.
• Comply with organization policies including, but not limited to, safety, good manufacturing practices, food safety, employment, and work rules.
• This role has the responsibility to understand and places in practice appropriate safety procedures. This responsibility is achieved through education, training, use of protective equipment (as applicable) and by following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Skills

• 0-1 years of experience in related field is preferred.
• Excellent proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite Products.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.
• Ability to read, understand and follow written specifications, blueprints, or schematics

Work Environment

• Work can be performed within a manufacturing plant environment with noise, extreme temperatures, and significant movement of powered equipment, people and conveyor (may depend on the role).
• Work conditions are typical of a food manufacturing facility.
• This role does not require any domestic travel
• Position may require the physical agility of lifting up to 50 pounds
• Position may require frequent and/or infrequent of bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, controls and standing/walking on concrete flooring.
• Position may require the physical ability to stand/walk for Greater than 4 hours.
