General Utility- Machine Operator (Finance)

The posted salary range reflects OSI's compensation for this role, varying by factors such as location, education, skills, experience, and performance. It includes base salary and may encompass bonuses, pay programs, benefits, 401k match, and other rewards.

Under general supervision, the Machine Operator will set up and operate production equipment following established procedures, lead manual labor tasks like loading and unloading materials, participate in root-cause analysis meetings, train new staff, track equipment downtime, develop SOPs/SSOPs, and monitor KPIs. The role involves operating various machinery as directed by leadership.

Job Responsibilities

• This is an individual contributor role without direct reports.

• Oversee production line operations, monitor equipment for malfunctions or defects, load raw materials, unload finished products, and move materials as needed.

• Set up equipment daily according to production schedules and product specifications; disassemble for sanitation at day's end.

• Monitor and troubleshoot equipment, notify maintenance for significant issues, and perform basic repairs.

• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and replace worn or broken parts.

• Record data, calibrate systems for time, temperature, and positioning, and interpret measurements.

• Work with maintenance to establish preventative programs and best practices.

• Report unusual or out-of-spec operations to management.

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with policies.

• Take ownership of equipment and machinery, ensuring proper operation.

• Adhere to safety, GMP, food safety, and employment policies.

• Coordinate coverage during breaks as per policy.

• Maintain accurate records and perform other assigned duties.

• Follow safety procedures through education, training, and proper equipment use.

Experience & Skills

• 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Analytical skills and ability to follow instructions.

• Ability to read recipes, specifications, blueprints, schematics.

• Basic measurement and math skills.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing plant with noise, temperature extremes, and moving equipment.

• No domestic travel required.

• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.
