Job summary

Ajinomoto Foods North America, Inc. in Missouri seeks a production worker to monitor a conveyor line, spread and inspect goods, and assist with packing. You will stand for long periods, handle repetitive movements, and work as part of a team under supervision.

Requirements include ability to lift and move boxes, follow GMPs and safety rules, and operate with a pallet jack when needed. A strong work ethic and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

  • Prefer High School Diploma/GED.
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable and self-driven.
  • Palletjack certification required for certain production workers.

Responsibilities

  • Stand continuously on the production floor and operate a running conveyor.
  • Spread and inspect product; remove scrap and pack into boxes.
  • Push finished boxes on conveyors, seal, and stack on skids to height 4–6 ft.
  • Move products using palletjacks and transfer to freezer as needed.
  • Follow safety rules and company SOPs; report issues to supervisor.

Position Summary

Monitor the production process by spreading, inspecting and packing product.

Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Must use both hands
  • Will be standing by a continually moving conveyor to spread and inspect goods
  • Remove scrap product from both sides of convey or belt and put into inedible barrel
  • Product is packed off on a running conveyor into boxes weighing 9 to 35 pounds depending on product
  • Boxes are then pushed down a running conveyor from scale, closed and pushed through tape machine and stacked on skids to a height of between 4-6 ft
  • Product is then transferred to freezer by use of palletjacks
  • Report any issues with product to lead/manager/supervisor
  • Work as a team under supervisor of lead
  • OT is often available
  • When line is down sweep/clean production area
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations per established company policies
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • Follows established equipment Lockout/Tagout procedures as required
Employee Safety Responsibilities
  • Report all injuries, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts and horseplay
  • Use proper lifting techniques
  • Use mechanical assistance (handjack, forklift, manlift)
  • Use personal assistance (buddy)
  • Use handrails
  • Use and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)

Temperatures throughout plant average 50 degrees. Required to wear hairnet, smock, boots, ear plugs, gloves, plastic sleeves, and aprons provided by the Company. Need to comply with Food Safety: GMP’S, SSOP, SOP, HACCP, SQF, and Quality requirements.

  • Continuously required to stand.
  • Frequent pushing or pulling up to 1080 pounds (with the use of a palletjack), lifting up to 50 pounds in a distance of 6ft. Carrying 10-50 pounds for a distance up to 10ft, Handling – gross motor and fine motor of the fingers.
  • Occasional walking, reaching and working above shoulders, body bending, hand twisting, stooping, climbing stairs, and body twisting/rotating.
  • Will be exposed to loud industrial type environments commonly found at plants and working with power equipment.
  • Varied temperatures from hot and humid to very cold.
