Job summary

Ontario Trillium Foundation in Bloomington, IL is seeking a dependable dishroom/kitchen helper to maintain clean work areas and assist in food preparation. You will scrub, rinse and load the dishwashing machine, clean pots, pans and surfaces, and support prep tasks as needed.

The role requires reliability, teamwork and adherence to sanitation standards. Ideal candidates are comfortable with standing for long periods and handling routine kitchen duties in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Able to perform basic food prep tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintains clean, sanitary and orderly kitchen work areas, equipment, plateware and utensils.
• Assists in food preparation procedures.
• Scrapes and pre-rinses food from dirty dishes and operates the dishwashing machine.
• Washes pots, pans and trays by hand and/or machine.
• Completes all assigned prep work.
• Removes trash and garbage to dumpster area.
• Washes work area tables, walls, refrigerator equipment, cooking equipment and floors.
• Cleans garbage cans and trash receptacles.
• Assembles, maintains and breaks down the dish machine.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintains kitchen work areas, equipment, plateware and utensils in a clean, sanitary and orderly condition. Assists in food preparation procedures.

Specific Functions and Duties

• Scrapes and pre-rinses food from dirty dishes and places them in dishwashing machine (50%*).
• Washes pots, pans and trays by hand and/or machine (15%*).
• Completes all assigned prep work (10%*).
• Removes trash and garbage to dumpster area (10%*).
• Washes work area tables, walls, refrigerator equipment, cooking equipment and floors (5%*).
• Cleans garbage cans and trash receptacles (5%*).
• Assembles, maintains and breaks down dish machine (5%*).
