Job summary

The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH, seeks a Physician in the Department of Urology—General Urologist (Open Rank/Track Faculty) for a full-time appointment at Assistant, Associate, or Professor level focused on patient care and training medical students and residents.

The role offers opportunities in quality improvement, clinical research or administration as a medical director, with access to the da Vinci Robotic System and a dedicated clinical staff.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required, board certified or board eligible.
• Eligible for Ohio state medical license and DEA.

Responsibilities

• Performs surgical procedures as assigned.
• Directs and provides direct and indirect patient care services in both inpatient and outpatient settings; conducts ambulatory clinics; interviews, obtains and reviews medical history of patients; performs physical examinations to assess medical or surgical needs; orders special procedures, diagnostic testing, and other ancillary services; responds to consultation requests; determines, prescribes and implements treatment plans and/or medications required; documents all services in the medical record; educates patients and promotes wellness and early detection.
• Responds and maintains open communication with referring physicians.
• Performs other duties and/or call assignments as defined by the Chair or her designee.
• Ensures continuing medical educational requirements are met; participates in department, college, medical center and university committees and other service activities.
• Serves as preceptor and provides training of residents, fellows, and students, as well as other members of the health professions team including advanced practice providers.
