This is a trainee position responsible for assisting with the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of wind turbines and all associated equipment, following procedures, guidelines, and operating directives. The role involves assisting with maintenance and operational duties, performing basic mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation tasks, and completing all training requirements within the designated time frame.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support and comply with all safety and environmental policies, ensuring safe conduct of all personnel and visitors.
• Complete annual safety training and participate in turbine-specific training sessions.
• Assist in the operation of wind turbine systems under supervision.
• Learn turbine components, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Read meters and gauges to verify operational conditions.
• Use tools safely and effectively, understanding their specific functions.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the plant area, tools, and equipment.
• Respond to emergency situations with immediate corrective actions.
• Utilize electrical test equipment upon certification for maintenance tasks.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and timely.
• Travel as needed and work flexible hours, including holidays and weekends.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems is desirable.
• Basic computer skills in common software applications.
• Valid driver’s license for the applicable state.

PHYSICAL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to perform physical tasks including climbing towers up to 300 feet, lifting weights up to 50-100 lbs., and working in various weather conditions. Safety equipment and procedures are mandatory.

The work environment involves exposure to electrical hazards, moving mechanical parts, chemicals, and outdoor weather conditions. Hearing protection, safety harnesses, and other safety gear are required.
