Job Description
The General Technician is responsible for assisting with mitigation, restoration, and reconstruction projects from the initial response through project completion. This role performs hands-on work at residential properties, including water damage mitigation, demolition, cleaning, drying, debris removal, repairs, reconstruction, and jobsite cleanup.
Mitigation & Restoration
- Respond to water, fire, storm, and other property damage restoration projects.
- Assist with water extraction, structural drying, demolition, and debris removal.
- Set up and monitor Dehumidifiers and other drying equipment.
- Perform moisture readings and document drying conditions as directed.
- Remove damaged flooring, drywall, insulation, cabinets, baseboards, and other materials as needed.
- Assist with contents handling, packing, moving, cleaning, and storage.
- Perform cleaning and sanitation of affected areas.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout the project.
- Properly handle and dispose of damaged material and debris.
- Follow established mitigation procedures and safety protocols.
Reconstruction
- Assist with residential reconstruction projects.
- Perform basic demolition and preparation of reconstruction.
- Assist with drywall installation, taping, texturing, and other general construction tasks.
- Assist with minor repairs and finish work as directed.
- Load, unload, transport, and organize materials and equipment.
- Protect unaffected areas of the customer’s property during construction debris.
- Maintain job-site cleanliness and remove construction debris.
Customer Service
- Maintain a professional and respectful attitude when working in customers’ homes.
- Communicate respectfully with customers and company team members.
- Protect customers’ belongings and property.
- Keep customers informed of work being performed when appropriate.
- Always represent the company professionally.
Documentation & Job Procedure
- Complete required job documentation, photos, moisture readings, equipment logs, and other paperwork accurately.
- Follow project instructions provided by the Lead Technician, Project Manager, or Mitigation & Rebuild Manager.
- Communicate job-site issues, changes, damages, or customer concerns promptly.
- Follow company processes for job-site arrival, departure, equipment placement, and completion.
- Use company technology and applications as required.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in restoration, mitigation, construction, remodeling, demolition, or general labor is a plus.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and company procedures.
- Ability to communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.
- Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass background and screening requirements, if applicable.
Physical Requirements

Work Environment
- Work schedules may vary based on Emergency response needs, project deadlines, and customer requirements.
- Occasional evenings, weekends, or after-hours emergency response may be required.
- Standard business hours 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. with occasional overtime during emergency response events.
- Fast-paced environment supporting emergency restoration and remediation operations.
