Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking an RN to join the General Surgery unit (2800) at Rochester General Hospital in Rochester, NY. The role supports pre- and post-surgical patient care in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, care planning, documentation, policy adherence, and participation in clinical research activities. BLS certification and NYS RN license are required; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing.
• Registered Nurse license in New York State.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• At least 6 months RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides high-quality, patient-centered, clinical care.
• Performs initial and ongoing assessment of the patient, utilizing appropriate data.
• Communicates and documents assessment of patient with the interdisciplinary team.
• Utilizes all available resources to meet patient and family needs.
• Develops and documents plan of care, treatment and services.
• Complies with organizational policies and safety protocols.
• Revises plan of care based on evaluations and updates documentation.
• Completes clinical research utilization forms for Nursing Research Department.
