Atrium Health’s GCMG General Surgery: Union West – Surgery in Matthews, NC is seeking a Surgical Physician Assistant. This full‑time role requires at least 1 year of general surgery or OR experience, including laparoscopic procedures, and involves inpatient and outpatient coverage with no on‑call or weekend shifts.

Job Overview

We are seeking a Surgical PA with a team mindset, experience in urgent/emergent and elective general surgery, and who is interested in making an impact in a rapidly growing suburban community near Charlotte, NC.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of general surgery experience, or OR experience, specifically laparoscopic experience.
• Serve the Union County community including Monroe, Waxhaw, and Indian Trail with two practice locations—one in Monroe and one in Matthews.
• Provide inpatient and outpatient coverage.
• No call or weekend coverage.
• Practice has been in place since 2014.
• Bread and butter general surgery and endoscopy.
• Increasing practice and OR volume since 2016.
• Must be a PA.

Compensation

Base compensation within the listed pay range based on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and training. Includes premium pay (shift, on‑call, etc.), incentive pay for select positions, and opportunity for annual performance‑based increases.
