Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan is seeking a Medical Assistant or Patient Care Tech to support clinicians by performing patient prep, vital signs, injections, venipuncture, and EKGs. The role includes preparing rooms and documenting in the chart.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent with 6 months of MA/PCT experience or complete CMA/RMA/EMT/LPN programs; BLS within 6 months; travel between clinics for float positions may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with six months of Medical Assistant or Patient Care Tech experience.
• OR completion of CMA/RMA/EMT/LPN or patient care technician program.
• For Rural Health clinics, BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• For float positions, travel between clinics may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and support per clinical protocol, including vital signs, injections and venipuncture, and administering EKGs as directed.
• Prepare exam rooms, equipment and supplies; organize forms for physicals and other visits.
• Document interventions, patient responses, medications, vital signs and tests in patient chart/computer system.
• Assist with immunizations, lab slips, referrals, and prescriptions as directed.
