Job summary

Extant Healthcare in Utah is seeking a highly skilled General Surgeon with trauma experience to join our surgical team at Common Spirit Holy Cross Hospital. This role offers a balanced mix of trauma and general surgery with a 24-hour home call schedule in a community hospital setting.

The ideal candidate will provide both emergent and elective operative care, participate in trauma call rotations, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes while building an elective

Qualifications

• Board certification in General Surgery.
• Current, unrestricted medical license in Utah.
• ATLS certification.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong decision-making abilities and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Perform emergency surgical procedures for trauma patients

This is an excellent opportunity for a surgeon who enjoys a mix of trauma and general surgery, prefers home call (24-hour), and thrives in a community hospital setting. There is ample opportunity to build an elective practice as well.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform emergency surgical procedures for trauma patients
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Participate in trauma call rotation
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative care
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of surgical techniques and advancements in trauma care

Qualifications:

• Board Certification in General Surgery (Fellowship training in Surgical Critical Care not required)
• Current, unrestricted medical license in the state
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong decision-making abilities and ability to work under pressure
