Job description

Join to apply for the General Surgeon (Notional Opportunity) role at Acuity International.

***This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located onsite in either the southeast, southwest, or central United States. Travel will likely be required.***

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. The General Surgeon will provide preoperative, operative, and post-operative management of patient care.
  2. All Health Care Providers (HCPs) will document care delivered and follow-up care required.
  3. Attend and participate in meetings and task force groups to improve quality and outcomes, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and stay updated on new developments, efforts, and policies.
  4. Maintain the highest regard for patient dignity and observe the precepts of the American Hospital Association's Bill of Rights for patients.
  5. Participate in and advise on Mass Casualty Exercises/Events.
  6. Assist with managing day-to-day activities and prioritizing tasks.
  7. Operate personal computer to access email, electronic calendars, and basic office software.
  8. Comply with all applicable standards and guidelines of Acuity.
  9. Attend and participate in meetings and task forces to improve quality, communicate issues, obtain approvals, and stay informed about new policies and developments.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  1. Minimum of 3 years of experience.
  2. Recent clinical experience in patient care for at least 6 months in the past year.
  3. Completed General Surgery Residency within the United States or an equivalent Western country.
  4. U.S. or Canadian Board Certification.
  5. Current unrestricted U.S. (State) medical license.
  6. Current certifications in ACLS, ATLS, and BLS or CPR.
  7. Participation in HIPAA training.
  8. Desirable: Recent completion of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) or similar advanced trauma course; trauma fellowship completion is a plus.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:
  • Work typically performed in an interior/office environment.
  • Sitting and standing for prolonged periods.
