Job summary

Skilled Wound Care in Sacramento, CA is seeking a General Surgeon to lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities. This role offers a no-call lifestyle, clinical autonomy, and the opportunity to practice surgical skills in a focused outpatient setting.

You will perform bedside debridement, evaluate chronic wounds, apply advanced dressings, and collaborate with facility teams. MD or DO required, CA license, and DEA license; wound care training provided.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Unrestricted medical license in California (or eligibility to obtain one).
• DEA license or eligibility to obtain one.
• No prior wound care experience required; comprehensive wound care training provided.

Responsibilities

• Surgical and bedside debridement and related procedures.
• Evaluation and treatment of chronic, non-healing, and complex wounds.
• Use of advanced wound dressings and protocols.
• Collaborative care in skilled nursing facilities and post-acute settings.

• Average Annual Earnings: $200,000–$250,000 (no earning cap as an independent contractor)

General Surgeon Requirements

• Medical Degree: MD or DO from an accredited institution
• Medical License: Unrestricted/clear medical license in the state of practice (or eligibility to obtain one)
