About the Opportunity

We are working with an established heavy civil construction contractor in the Tulsa area seeking an experienced General Superintendent to support its continued growth and oversee field operations across its project portfolio.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced construction professional to work directly alongside the Vice President, helping drive operational performance, project execution, and the continued development of field teams. The successful professional will play a key role in coordinating multiple projects, strengthening field operations, and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality heavy civil and concrete construction work.

The Role

The General Superintendent will oversee field operations across multiple heavy civil and concrete construction projects, providing leadership and direction to Superintendents, Foremen, and field personnel.

Working in close conjunction with the President and Vice President, you will help establish operational priorities, coordinate resources, monitor project performance, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with company expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee field operations across multiple heavy civil and concrete construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
• Work directly with the President and Vice President to coordinate field operations, establish priorities, and support the company's wider operational objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop Superintendents, General Foremen, Foremen, and field crews.
• Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to maintain project schedules and maximise field productivity.
• Oversee concrete construction activities, including structural concrete, foundations, retaining walls, and associated civil works, as applicable to project requirements.
• Coordinate earthwork, grading, underground utilities, drainage, paving, and other heavy civil scopes.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to develop construction schedules, monitor progress, and resolve field-related challenges.
• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and project-specific requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years Superintendent experience in heavy civil, concrete construction, or a combination of both.
• Previous experience as a General Superintendent, Area Superintendent, Senior Superintendent, or in a comparable field leadership role.
• Proven ability to oversee multiple projects and manage several field teams simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of concrete construction methods, construction sequencing, earthwork, utilities, scheduling, manpower planning, and equipment utilisation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop Superintendents, Foremen, and field personnel.
